FINAN Electromechanical Engineering PLC, established in 2019, is an Ethiopian alternative electromechanical work contractor and electric equipment supplier. Operating under the trade name of Wholesale trade in electrical equipment, Electrical contracting, and Electromechanical work contractor, FINAN aims to provide cost-effective and environmentally friendly energy solutions to empower Ethiopians.


With a strategic approach to support customers both on-site and off-site, FINAN offers a range of services including consultancy, installation, installation supervision, commissioning, capacity building (training), maintenance, and post-integration services.     Design, installation, and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems in buildings, factories, and other infrastructure. Th includes: Power systems & cabling, Lighting systems, Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, Plumbing and sanitation systems, Fire protection systems, Security systems, and Lifts and escalators

  • Off-grid, Micro-/Mini-grid and Distributed Generation Works
    Design, install, and maintain independent power systems for areas without access to the main grid. This includes: Solar power systems, Wind power systems, Hydropower systems, Hybrid systems combining multiple sources, Diesel generators for backup

  • Distribution Networks and Substation Works
    Design, build, and maintain electrical distribution networks for delivering power from utilities to homes and businesses. This includes: Overhead and underground power lines, Transformers and substations, and Protection and control systems

  • Power Quality and Reliability Assessment
    Evaluate the quality and reliability of existing electrical systems to identify and solve problems. This includes: Power factor analysis, Interruption analysis, Harmonic analysis, Voltage sag and swell analysis, Grounding and bonding checks, and Thermal imaging.

  • Energy Saving and Energy Auditing
    Analyze energy consumption in buildings and facilities to identify and implement energy-saving measures. This includes: Energy audits, Lighting retrofits, HVAC system upgrades, Renewable energy integration, and Energy management. systems

  • Training and Consultancy on Electromechanical, Electrical and Electronics
    Provide training courses and consulting services to clients on a range of electromechanical, electrical, and electronics topics. This includes: Engineering design and analysis, Equipment selection and installation, Operation and maintenance procedures, Safety and regulatory compliance, and Various software trainings.

  • Feasibility Study on Electromechanical, Electrical and Electronics Works
    Conduct technical and economic assessments of proposed electromechanical, electrical, and electronics projects. This includes: Project viability analysis, Cost estimation, Risk assessment, and Regulatory compliance assessment

  • Supply of Electromechanical, Electrical and Electronic Equipment
    Source and supply a wide range of electromechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment to clients. This includes: Power generation equipment, Distribution and control equipment, Motors and drives, Lighting and ventilation equipment, Sensors and instrumentation

Mr. Yemane Brhane received his B.Sc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering stream of Electrical Power Engineering from Mekelle University, Tigray, Ethiopia in 2015. Leake Enquay earned his PhD degree [Sep., 2017] in Power Quality (focus: Voltage Dips) from the Electrical Energy Systems of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) of the Netherlands, MSc degree [Jul., 2010] in Electrical Power Engineering from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) of the Netherlands, and BSc degree [Jul., 2007] in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mekelle Institute of Technology (MIT) of Ethiopia. Leake Enquay earned his PhD degree [Sep., 2017] in Power Quality (focus: Voltage Dips) from the Electrical Energy Systems of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) of the Netherlands, MSc degree [Jul., 2010] in Electrical Power Engineering from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) of the Netherlands, and BSc degree [Jul., 2007] in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mekelle Institute of Technology (MIT) of Ethiopia. He worked as assistant lecturer, lecturer and assistant professor at MIT for more than 10 years. Leake has also served as Vice Dean of Research and Academics at MIT for two years, and he has taught several courses and supervised more than 40 graduate and undergraduate students at TU/e, EiTM-MU, and MIT-MU. He has published more than 15 articles in reputable journals and conference proceedings, and made more than 10 oral presentations to experts from industries, universities and policymakers. Currently, Leake is working as an assistant professor at MIT, and as an assistant principal researcher at Tigray institute of Policy Studies (TIPS). He is also the founder, and Project manager and Supervisor at FINAN Electromechanical Engineering PLC. His research interests include Power Quality, Smart grid and Smart cities, Renewable Energies, Energy Efficiencies, Load and Energy Forecasting, and Planning, Power Electronics & Drives and its applications.

Alula Yohannes received his BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mekelle Institute of Technology in 2010. He then worked for Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation; a public owned vertically integrated electrical power company by then, for two years. He received MSc for Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the Netherlands and for Smart Grids and Buildings from Grenoble Institute of Technology (INP), Grenoble, France in 2014. He is currently working as...

Alula Yohannes received his BSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mekelle Institute of Technology in 2010. He then worked for Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation; a public owned vertically integrated electrical power company by then, for two years. He received MSc for Electrical Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), the Netherlands and for Smart Grids and Buildings from Grenoble Institute of Technology (INP), Grenoble, France in 2014. He is currently working as Electrical Engineer at ASML of the Netherlands, and he is the Managing Director of VP Electrical Power Systems; a company founded by himself together with his friends in Ethiopia. VP Electrical Power Systems is active in the areas of Power Quality, Energy Efficiency and Micro-grid. Alula is also the founder FINAN.

Mr. Leul Gebreselassie Asfaha


Mr. Leul Gebreslassie Asfaha received his Advanced diploma of Electrical Technology in June 2005 from Maichew Technical college (MTC), Tigray and worked as Electrical Technician at Ethiopian Civil Aviation from July 2005 to December 2006, and as technical assistant during Jan. 2006 – Nov. 2009. In July 2014, Leul received MTech. Degree in Electrical Power Engineering with specialization in power system and automation from the Defence Engineering College. Since July 2014, he has been working as Lecture, Quality assurance head/department head at Mekelle Institute of Technology-Mekelle University (MIT-MU) involved in teaching, research and management activities. Currently, Mr. Leul is the Vice Dean of MIT. Besides, he is the founder and Vice-General Manager of FINAN Electromechanical Engineering PLC.
